How this calculator works
Finding the number of days between two dates means accounting for different month lengths and leap years, which is easy to get wrong by counting on a calendar by hand. This calculator finds the exact day count between any two dates, plus the equivalent in weeks and months.

Days between: End date − Start date, in days
Weeks: Days ÷ 7
Months (approx.): Days ÷ 30.44

Common questions
This calculator counts the number of days elapsed between the two dates (end date minus start date), which does not include an extra day for both endpoints. If an inclusive count is needed, add 1 to the result.
Months vary in length from 28 to 31 days, so converting a day count into a month count requires an average (this calculator uses 30.44 days per month, the average length across a year), which will not always match a whole number of calendar months exactly.
The calculation is based on actual calendar dates, so any February 29 that falls within the range is automatically included in the day count — no separate leap year adjustment is needed.
